In my 20-plus years of working with spinal conditions, injuries and chronic pain, I have discovered that:My approach involves looking at ALL aspects of your life:1) MOTION HEALS. It’s as simple as that. Motion, not permanent stabilization, is necessary for deep healing of the soft tissue and gentle, natural re-alignment of the spine.
2) It’s imperative to TREAT THE CAUSE, not the just symptom. I see myself as a detective, working with my clients to uncover the true source of their continued discomfort. Some of your nutrition and lifestyle habits may be sabotaging your healing process.
3) KEEP IT SIMPLE. I know how overwhelming and debilitating back pain can be. My customized programs and workshops are very straightforward. I enjoy de-mystifying “yoga” -- presenting movements and breath techniques in an accessible way.
4) EACH OF US IS ALREADY WHOLE, COMPLETE AND DESERVES TO LIVE A PAIN-FREE LIFE and deep down inside you know this already. I’m just here to remind you of what’s possible.
5) You can RE-CLAIM YOUR LIFE! It’s not necessary to live in chronic pain or discomfort – your body remembers what it’s like to be healthy and pain-free. Let me help you find your way back home.That is, how you sit, stand, drive, walk, lift things, brush your teeth, stand in line at the grocery store, hold your baby, sit at your computer; what you eat, how you sleep and for how long, etc. All of these things are connected either directly or indirectly to your spinal issues.I rely on my knowledge and study of Ayurveda (the science of self-healing which has been practiced in India for over 5000 years) to evaluate your body type and lifestyle habits and help you identify problem areas and substitute better habits which will help you to heal faster.
In group classes you can get some basics, but one on one is where I can really look at your lifestyle habits, nutrition, body type and give you a customized plan of action to follow that will include yoga, breathing and other simple practices to enhance your health.
